Story Quests
Progressing in Monster Hunter Now’s Story Quests will unlock a variety of features.
The Prologue Story begins when you first start the game and begin playing.
While following along with the story, you’ll be introduced to the basic features of Monster Hunter Now.
Completing the Prologue Story will allow you to start the Pre-Season Story, as well as unlock the following content.
- Hunt-a-thons
- Elder Dragon Interceptions
- Equipment upgrading
- Special Skills
- Season Pass
- Special Quests
- Purchasing of Potions from the shop
- Tundra habitat
- Volcano habitat
*After the Tundra habitat is unlocked, Lagombi and Banbaro will begin appearing in the Tundra.
*After the Volcano habitat is unlocked, Great Wroggi and Basarios will begin appearing in the Volcano.
The Pre-Season Story can be played by completing the Prologue and reaching Hunter Rank 11.
It’s here that you can begin to put into practice the basics that you’ve learned.
You’ll also be able to customize your Palico’s appearance, and a variety of new monster species will start appearing in the field.
Completing the Pre-Season Story will cause 6★ monsters to appear in the field. You’ll also be able to play the Season Story, as well as unlock the following content:
- Driftsmelting
- Monster invasions in volatile territories
- Able to obtain Weapon Refining Parts/Armor Refining Parts (Daily Quest rewards)
- Featured monster investigations
The content of each Season can be accessed for around 3 months.
Progressing in Season Stories will unlock even more large monsters that will appear in the field.
Completing a Season Story will unlock monsters of a ★ difficulty higher than the monster hunted in the Season Story’s final Urgent Quest (E.G.: If the monster in the final Urgent Quest is 6★, 7★ monsters will begin to appear).
You can replay the Season Story during the Season, but once the Season ends, you won’t be able to play that Season’s Season Story again (though it may be brought back for events or other occasions). Additionally, even if monsters that appeared at the start of the Season are no longer available, they may be unlocked again in the new Season.
