The slime coating Brachydios causes the blastscourge status abnormality when it adheres to a hunter. It explodes either upon taking damage or after a certain amount of time has passed, but the effect can be canceled by evading.

When Brachydios roars, the slime on its body turns yellow, and from that point on, any slime stuck to the ground will explode immediately.

Similarly, once Brachydios itself is affected by the blastscourge status, explosions will occur more frequently, and it becomes more dangerous, making use of long-range attacks that scatter slime over a wide area.

However, water element attacks can remove the slime from Brachydios’s front legs, serving as a means to counteract both the blastscourge status and the slime on the ground.
